I need to retire an exchange 2000 server from an environment. We had
an existing Windows 2000 and exchange 2000 server and have just added
a Windows / exchange 2003 server and have moved all the mailboxes to
the new server. I want to remove the old exchange server cleanly, but
leave the windows 2000 server up as it is opperating as an application
server for their proprietary application.
Is it enough just to run the add / remove exchange 2000 on the old
server to get everything removed cleanly, or do I need to do things to
make sure settings and 'roles' are transfered properly to the new
server?
Thanks for any input...
