Hi,
I one of our email accounts were deleted and the mailbox was purged. I
have all the logs but I cannot recover the mailbox. I do not have an online
backup. Anything I can do to recover the mailbox?

You say you do not have an online backup. Do you have any kind of backup at
all?

I'm trying to restore from an offline backup. I have the priv1.edb and
priv1.stm databases. I have log files renging from E0000001.log to
E0000186.log with the current E00.log file.

Here's my problem, I need to restore the mailboxed only up until E0000171.
I am unable to for some reason. I replaced the data files and the log files
but I can't get the database to stop the restore process ate E0000171.
Instead it restores the logs completely. Any suggestions or somewhere to go
to to find the solution?

I'm just wondering if I'm missing something?

Hi,
I'm sorry if I'm not explaining correctly. I'm pretty new to Exchange.

I have a copy of ALL the log files but no backup. I was wondering if there
is a way to restore all the mailboxes with only the log files. For instance:

I had to reinstall Exchange 2000. I didn't have a backup using a backup
software like Windows Backup. I have saved all the log files (E0000001.log -
E00000186.log; including E00.log). Is it possible to recreate the database
and all the messages from E0000001.log to say E0000161.log?

Thanks

I have the priv1.edb file but I need only to restore up to a certain log
file because a user accidently deleted some of her messages last month and I
want to recover up until the day before the deletion.

At this point I'm going to suggest you look at a 3rd party product.
Such as Quest Recovery Manager or
OnTrack Power Controls.

Either that or call MS PSS.

right...and start doing nightly, online backups...and how long do you have
DIR set for? you might want to extend that, if you have the available
resources...
